Micro-Systems

As well as following horses on various lists I make, noting certain races to back runners from and meticulously studying the big races I also like to use systems as part of my betting arsenal. I'm always on the lookout for an angle to exploit, whether that's a Trainer system or a general racing system covering a specific type of race/runner I can spend hours in front of my computer searching for that profitable micro-system.

Here are a couple from my betting portfolio that I'll be using for the next couple of months.

There probably won't be many runners coming out of these systems but they have been operating at quite a high strike rate over the last 5 years...

SYSTEMS TO FOLLOW (1st August - 30th September)

13 winners from 37 runners (35% strike rate) for a LSP of +30.56

TOPWEIGHTS IN NURSERIES (2yo HANDICAPS)

It's long been established that backing those towards the top end of the weights in these types of contest is the best way to finding the winner but it appears that those carrying more than the standard topweight of 9-07 are the ones to focus on.

System rules:

  • Male
  • 3-6 career starts
  • Run in the last 4 weeks
  • Carrying 9-08 or more from top 2 in the weights.

11 winners from 28 runners (39% strike rate) for a LSP of +26.36

I'll be back tomorrow with a 5T Analysis of the big 7F International Handicap at Ascot from Saturday's King George card.

Then I'm off on a road trip to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday including a stop off at Goodwood next Wednesday to see the mighty Ribchester beat Churchill in the Sussex Stakes and cover the cost of the holiday.

Good luck,
Gavin.

This week I've laid out some Trainer Systems, some Horses To Follow, some Races to note and a couple of Micro Systems which I'm hoping will make the second half of the Flat Season as profitable for Blog Readers as the first.

There's lots to take in and it may be difficult to keep track of all the runners the various Systems throw up, so why not let me do it for you?

Simply sign up for the Second Half Flat Service for just £10 and I'll email you all the runners, every day until Oct. 1st!

You can also download the Blog Posts featured this week from the Members Area and keep a track of the winners and losers on the Results Page.

And with 7 Exclusive Races due to be covered using the 5T method and Free subscription to the Daily Nag Service for Glorious Goodwood that's a helluva lot of content for JUST £10!

Expect the first Email of the Service to be hitting your inbox this Saturday morning!
