Arrrgh. It seems after yesterday’s results that I have caught a dose of something that is every punters nightmare…..PLACE-ITUS.
From my bets yesterday I had,
Val C 3rd, Regal Parade 2nd, Advanced 3rd, Diggerratt 3rd, Eyes Like a Hawk 4th and I even backed Henry Cecils 2yo Catherine Quest who finished 2nd to a 50/1 shot.
It wasn’t all bad as I had a nice each way Lucky 15 with 4 places but winners are what we all want and no matter how many big priced placed horses I get I’d much prefer a nice juicy priced winner.
Of them all I thought Advanced ran very well in our bid to make it 4 big Saturday Trends winners on the bounce and my £200 ew bet at 16/1 had me dreaming of Las Vegas again when he struck the front a furlong out. Sin City may now be out but at least I’ve got a nice punting arsenal to take into battle at York next week.

But before I switch my attention to the Knavesmire there’s the little matter of Bath today and the latest addition to my list of horses to follow.
We put him up as the Tip of the day on Wednesday night at Sandown and if any of you backed him then, I think you were mighty unlucky.
KYLLACHY STORM: 5yo Gelding from the Ron Hodges Yard. His last run looked very unlucky as he was caught in a pocket on the rail with the jockey seemingly having plenty of horse under him. He switched around a couple of horses but couldn’t get the gap he needed and finished on the heels of the protagonists with Darryl Holland sitting motionless. This horse loves Bath, has won over 5/6f and although he has form on Firm ground I think he is ideally suited by softer conditions. In his grade (class 5/6) he is a good sprinter.
He runs in the 5pm today and with previous winning rider William Carson back on board I fancy him very strongly to get my money back. If we could get a little bit of rain over Bath I’d be even happier.
Good luck,
Gavin.
